After a car accident, even ordinary things like turning your head, sitting at work, or getting comfortable at night can be difficult. Kevin provides registered massage therapy in Vernon for soft tissue concerns that may follow a motor vehicle accident.
Start with an assessment
Your first appointment includes a discussion of the crash, your symptoms, relevant medical findings, and the activities you are finding difficult. Kevin will assess movement and soft tissue sensitivity to decide whether massage therapy is appropriate.
People may seek care for neck and shoulder stiffness, whiplash-related discomfort, upper or lower back tension, and muscle guarding. These symptoms do not all have the same cause, so the treatment plan should reflect your assessment.
What treatment may involve
Treatment may include hands-on work to the affected muscles and surrounding tissues, comfortable movement, and practical suggestions for managing activity between visits. Pressure and positioning are adjusted to how you are feeling. A recent injury does not need aggressive treatment to be taken seriously.
The aim is to support comfort and function as part of your recovery plan. Kevin may recommend medical follow-up or coordination with other providers when your symptoms call for it.
Using ICBC benefits
ICBC currently lists up to 12 registered massage therapy treatments as pre-approved during the first 12 weeks after a crash for eligible claims. A doctor or nurse practitioner referral is not required for that early-access treatment. You will need your claim number and Personal Health Number.
Before booking, contact the clinic to confirm whether Kevin can see you under your claim, how billing will work, and whether any fees would be your responsibility. Do not assume that every appointment length or charge is covered. Treatment beyond the early-access period may require further approval.

When massage should wait
Get medical assessment for a suspected head injury, severe or worsening pain, or new numbness or weakness after a crash. Chest pain, breathing difficulty, or loss of bowel or bladder control requires urgent medical attention. Massage should not delay that care.
