Massage Therapy, Parenting and Anatomy

Hello, page visitors and followers! Today’s insight is the daily activity of parenting (especially parents of children in the 1-3 years age range), how this applies to your health and massage therapy.

First off, if this is your every day, my hats off to you (shout out to my love). In my opinion, few comparisons within fitness training will tax and strain human anatomy like parenting. Based on the factors of odd lifting angles, length of time the anatomy will contract in that lift/hold, repetition of the action (compounded with multiple children) throughout an entire day (repeated weekly, monthly, etc.).

Most parents that I have mentioned this opinion too will agree; being a parent is across the world from “easy.” The human anatomy has a built-in superpower to help us out against this insane physical and physiological challenge (no crazy storyline, visits to the future or industrial chemical needed here) and its called rest. Yes, in my opinion, the very thing that we lose or lack as new parents is the healing superpower of the human body. As a daily action, (in summery), rest can decrease stress levels, allow the anatomy to heal, and process/absorb consumed daily nutrients to fuel us into the next day.

Are you lacking sleep or not sleeping fully? Massage therapy can help you. As a secondary form of healing (vs rest), massage therapy can provide a means of maintaining, rehab of physical function/pain relief and promote overall personal health. Registered Massage Therapists (including yours truly) are here to help when needed (even on weekends-see https://www.kevinbreiterrmt.ca).

As a dad, husband and RMT, I can relate to this topic. Planning your treatments (when possible, of course) is commonly a great suggested course of action. This type of pre-planning personal care initially was new to me and born out of necessity. Personally, and professionally, this helps me, and I hope this short topic piece helps you.

You can do it, dear parent,

Coach Kevin
